HcG Information
HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) is a natural hormone that is found in the body, both male & female. Taken in very small doses as a homeopathic, it aids in burning abnormal fat, which is usually found in excess in our stomach, back, butt, hips, thighs, and underside of arms. With the HCG drops, the body will consume the abnormal fat and after the HCG drops diet is completed, the metabolism will be reset. When a person goes on a low calorie diet without the HCG drops, the body goes into starvation mode and holds onto the fat. After a short period, the body will start to consume the normal fat needed to protect the vital organs and bones for fuel, and muscle mass will be depleted as well.
While taking the HcG drops on the low calorie diet, the body uses the extra calories from the abnormal fat reserves. Therefore, your body will still be consuming enough calories. Therefore, the fat stores are making up for the lower intake of calories.
It is recommended to take the drops for 20-40 days during a single phase. Then, for three to six weeks Phase 3 is followed without the drops. The reason for this is to stop the body from becoming HcG resistant. After Phase 3 is followed for 3 weeks, you can than safely and effectively start another Phase 2 of the HCG drops & diet to drop more weight. These 2 phases can be repeated until desired weight is reached. The final stage is Phase 4 where other foods are re-introduced.
When patients are given small daily doses of HCG, they can comfortably go about their daily activities while on a diet of only 500 Calories per day. During the first few days on the diet, a few people might experience some mild hunger pains, nausea or headaches as the body adjusts to shifting hormone levels. Ginger root , Advil or Tylenol can be taken during the first few days if needed, although for most it is not necessary. By the second week, after the HCG is circulating regularly in the body and is consuming the abnormal fat, your appetite will decrease and your hunger will be satisfied by the smaller portion of calories consumed. This is due to your hypothalamus adjusting your metabolic rate, to the amount of calories circulating in your system from the fat being released. Drinking tea daily, with or without stevia, will also act as a natural appetite suppressant and will help boost your energy level.
The hypothalamus gland is located in the brain and performs a variety of functions. It moderates the thyroid, adrenals, fat storage, and more importantly, your metabolic rate. While on the HCG drops diet, & then during the reset Phase 3, your hypothalamus will work to reset your metabolism, so that when you complete the diet, you’ll be able to keep the weight off.
In combination with the low calorie diet, the HCG may aid your body in losing 1/2 to two pounds per day. (original Melba Toast only – beware of boxed Melba snacks that contain sugar – read the labels.)
-Tea or Coffee in any quantity without sugar, milk, cream, or artificial flavoring.

NOTE: It is important for you to maintain your blood sugar at a stable and healthy level throughout the day, both for weight loss purposes & for general wellness feelings. If you are feeling weak or light-headed, eat one of your portions for the day. The goal is to find your own comfort threshold of reducing calorie intake to a safe and tolerable level for your body metabolism and lifestyle, while allowing your body to feel “safe” and not go into a starvation mode (both because of the HcG drops & the right kinds & amount of food), thereby allowing a safe and healthy weight loss. Please note that while on the HCG Phase 2 drops, you will not feel hungry, but you are not to skip eating. Missing a meal will not help you lose weight faster. Phase 3
Phase 3 is the 3 weeks following Phase 2.
This time is crucial for stabilizing the body allowing the body to maintain the new “safe” weight set-point. Weighing daily is of utmost importance during this time. The weight on the morning after the last HCG day will be the new set-point. Keeping the weight at this new level is the key to resetting the hypothalamus. You are to increase caloric intake to 1500-1800 calories, with lean proteins, fruits, and vegetables (less restrictive choices than during Phase 2), while limiting / avoiding any sugars, starches, fats, oils, or dairy.
If the weight increases by more than 2 pounds during these 3 weeks, do an "apple/steak day", or an "apple/grapefruit day".
A "apple/steak day" is one day of apples throughout the day (no limit) while maintaining the consumption of clear fluids, and a lunch/dinner consisting of a large steak. (No other protein, vegetable, fruit, or breadsticks.) This may also be a grapefruit/steak day.
An "apple/grapefruit day" is one day of eating 4 to 6 apples throughout the day, or, 4 to 6 grapefruits throughout the day.
This will usually bring the body weight back down towards the last HCG weight, thus, reminding the hypothalamus of the new safe weight set-point.
If more weight is to be lost, Phase 2 may be entered into again, which will consist of the same exact protocol as the original Phase 2 & the HcG drops. Phase 3 will be entered into again in the same fashion and repeated with the exact same protocol as the original Phase 3. This rotation of Phase 2 and Phase 3 can be repeated as many times as needed to attain the desired body weight. After the desired weight has been achieved, Phase 3 will be followed by Phase 4.
Phase 4
Phase 4 is the 3 weeks following Phase 3 - (yes, that is a total of 6 weeks). During Phase 4, weighing every day to continue to set the hypothalamus at the last HCG weight may be helpful . Also during Phase 4 will be the gradual introduction to sugars, starches, dairy, fats and oils & special attention should be paid to initial increase of these foods to make sure that weight is not increasing during re-introduction. On days that it has, use the apple or grapefruit/steak day to bring things back.
Dr. Simeons found that during this Phase, the body is now capable of handling sugars, starches, dairy, and oils again, yet still maintaining the goal weight. These 3 weeks are still very important to the solidity of the new set-point. Therefore, if an "apple/steak" day is needed during these 3 weeks to bring the weight back down, it should be done.
Following all Phases is to help the body regain a new “safe” weight set-point. Resetting the hormonal balance of the hypothalamus will be the end result.

All visible fat should be removed before cooking. A George Foreman Grill works great or meats can be cooked by baking, broiling, grilling, boiling, or stir-frying, with NO additional fats or oils. You can use natural beef broths to bake with. The juice of lemons or limes are allowed. Salt, pepper, vinegar, and most other herbs and spices are fine to use as seasonings.
